Cam Wilson tears through the Hyundai Excel field at Queensland Raceway yesterday – after starting in 33rd and last position, the number 25 Slideways machine hit the lead after only nine laps in the inaugural Aussie Shade Solutions 200km race.
Unfortunately clutch issues robbed the outfit of a top result, after Wilson claimed two of the three race wins on Saturday from pole position, with a second place finish in the other race.
Saturday’s racing concluded with an evening race, which tested competitors night driving abilities!
Flying the flag for the Slideways stable in the main race on Sunday was the combination of Simon Winters and Ryan Hansford, who claimed a brilliant second place finish, after a gruelling afternoon of racing in searing temperatures.
The next outing for the squad is the Hyundai Excel Nationals, scheduled for November 17-19 at Wakefield Park in New South Wales, with Wilson hitting the track as the reigning champion after claiming the 2016 crown at Morgan Park Raceway.
