After a successful launch of the Home Series at Go Karting World at the start of the month it was time for Gold Coast to kick their Home Series off! This also marked the start of the Championship Series which takes place at all 3 Centres!
Given the Championship Series Status of the round this would see an extra 5 laps of Qualifying as well as feature length races. Cadets were the first to run in the track. Daniel Hughes made a strong improvement on his first round at Go Karting World by qualifying 1st! Luke Wilson continued his round 1 form following .8 behind in 2nd and Ellie Wilson made a return to the podium rounding out the top 3! Daniel Hughes & Luke Wilson stayed strong holding their positions in Race 1, Brock Helm moved up from his 4th place to clinch the final podium spot. Race 2 involves a “Chook Lotto” (Random drawing for grid spots) Brock Helm lead out front and held on to claim his first win of the year following 1 second behind was Joshua Richards with Luke Wilson finishing 3rd. The final race saw Brock Helm claim another win with Daniel Hughes following behind and Luke Wilson continuing his consistency with 3rd.

Tejay Junek & Kyan Szczepanski both moved up 2 spots through the mid pack to improve on their qualifying form! Race 2 Luc Jacobsen came out on top with Carter Skewes making it 3 2nd places in a row! A fresh face to the events podium was Zachary Naylor who finished 3rd. The final race saw a return for the original podium sitters with Luc Jacobsen once again taking 1st place, Jude Livermore finishing 2nd in what can only be described as an epic finish! Luc & Jude were just 0.029ths apart as they crossed the finish line, with Luc just inching in front of Jude drastically spinning out once he crossed. An excited Luc was surprised to find out he was the actual winner only finding out once back in the pits! Carter Skewes continued his consistent form finishing 3rd!

Open class was a good mix of familiar faces and fresh faces. Go Karting World Home series Round 1 winner Chaad Hewitt unfortunately wasnt able to continue his battle with Ben Hoffman due to illness, but Ben wasted no time in getting back to the top claiming pole in Qualifying. Chloe Buck made moves to claim 2nd and edge out Lachlan Powell for the Top 3! Unfortunately Ben would spin himself out in the first race dropping all the way down to 10th place. Clayton Hydes would come from 4th to claim 1st place followed by Lachlan Powell with Luiz Fagundes taking 3rd in his first race event! Race 2 would have Lachlan Powell completing his podium trilogy with a win! 2 seconds behind was Luiz Fagundes with Liam Hydes making a return to the podium to round out the top 3!
